When Santa Turned Green

I was battling the masses of shoppers yesterday in Manhattan and came across a great young children's book at FAO Schwarz: When Santa Turned Green by Victoria Perla. If any of you have young children as I do, I definitely recommend it. As Victoria Perla states in her introduction: "I wrote this story because I was searching for a non-scary way to tell my children about a serious issue. Not only did I want them to understand what global warming was about, I wanted them to feel that they could make a big impact from their corner of the world-just by making lots of little changes."

Time to Get Serious About Renewable Energy

Light, sweet crude for January delivery rose 81 cents to $94.65 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midday in Europe. The contract rose $1.77 to settle at $93.84 a barrel on Friday.
With events are such as they are, it is imperative that renewable energy sources such as wind and solar thermal power farms be built with an urgency. For environmental reasons they should have been at the forefront decades ago and now we are seeing what happens when you overwhelmingly depend on fossil fuels.

Scientific Skeptics of Anthropogenic Global Warming(AGW)

There is a growing number of vocal scientists that are challenging the overwhelming consensus of the scientific communtiy (i.e. the IPCC and every National Academy of Science of the major industrialized nations). They are challenging Anthropogenic Global Warming(man-made Climate Change) consensus and are furthering the misconception that there is widespread debate over this issue. You can find out about who these leading skeptics are and who is behind them by going to this link: http://www.patmichaels.com/aggregator/sources/6

What is Up with Texas?

I have not been a huge fan of what has been comming out of Texas in the past twenty years but this article is really scary: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/150215/te...

There have been some recent battles won against the building of new coal-fired energy plants, but we must press on. There is too much money and political influence against us to let up after a few victories.
