Green Energy

Status:
Complete
Description:
I signed up for wind power with Con Edison, my power provider some time ago.  I have changed all the lightbulbs to the energy efficeint florescent ones. I use the subway and don't own a car.  When a rental is needed, I get a Prius Hybrid.  A few months ago I created a website to educate people about the causes and effects of Global Warming and how to help stop it.  The solutions that I provide largely deal with using solar and wind power, much like Denmark. The website is www.bluemarble4us.com

Chatham High School Renovations Turned Down

As many people From The Chatham Network know. The Chatham High School has had a plan to Go Green for sometime now. This project has been on track since December of 2006. The School Recently Had a budget vote for 35 Million Dollars and was turned down because it was to much money. We were left with seven thousand Million Dollars to make Renovations. However, we have not come up with a plan since the budget vote so the money is left hangning and we have no way making a new plan. Our Plan that was turned down was for the High School. The High School was to get a complete Renovation. However we are still trying to come up with a plan other than complete and total Renovaton.

When Santa Turned Green

I was battling the masses of shoppers yesterday in Manhattan and came across a great young children's book at FAO Schwarz: When Santa Turned Green by Victoria Perla. If any of you have young children as I do, I definitely recommend it. As Victoria Perla states in her introduction: "I wrote this story because I was searching for a non-scary way to tell my children about a serious issue. Not only did I want them to understand what global warming was about, I wanted them to feel that they could make a big impact from their corner of the world-just by making lots of little changes."
